Luxury Escapes: Multilingual Website T&Cs Translation Across 8 Languages

The challenge

Luxury Escapes serves more than seven million members worldwide with curated luxury travel experiences across hotels, tours, cruises and holiday packages. As the company continued to grow its international customer base, translating consumer-facing website Terms & Conditions into eight languages became critical — but also uniquely challengin

Consumer-facing legal text is a specialised category of translation. Under Australian Consumer Law, EU consumer directives, China’s e-commerce framework and the equivalent frameworks in Arabic-speaking jurisdictions, the translated version of a company’s T&Cs is what actually binds it to its customers in those markets. A single mistranslated clause — a dropped negation, a wrong modal verb, a subtly changed obligation — can create real exposure in a customer dispute or a regulatory review.

Luxury Escapes needed a translation partner who understood this legal weight, could deliver at commercial scale, and could maintain absolute consistency across languages, jurisdictions and future updates.

Our approach

Interlingual proposed a phased rollout coordinated by a single dedicated project manager. Every language was translated by a NAATI-certified translator with legal and consumer-content experience, and independently reviewed by a second NAATI-certified translator before delivery. Nothing was outsourced to machine translation. Nothing was left to a single translator’s judgment.

Because we knew this project would grow — new markets, new content, ongoing T&C updates as regulations evolve — we built a bespoke Luxury Escapes glossary and translation memory during the first phase. Terminology decisions locked in for German were automatically inherited by French, Arabic, Italian and every subsequent language. Brand voice stayed consistent. And every future translation now draws on that same accumulated knowledge.

Underpinning all of this was open communication. We flagged terminology questions to the client, bundled them intelligently, and made sure a single decision from the client team applied across every language on the project. Fewer emails, faster answers, better consistency.

The outcome

Phase one was delivered ahead of the committed schedule, with zero quality flags on internal QA. Subsequent batches followed the same pattern, each benefiting from the glossary and translation memory built earlier. Terminology stayed consistent across every language, brand voice was preserved, and the client’s legal team could publish translated T&Cs with confidence in every market they operate in.

Beyond the immediate deliverable, Luxury Escapes now owns a live multilingual translation asset — the foundation for every future T&C update, new market launch and localised content initiative.
